About PianoPracticeLab
PianoPracticeLab is a website of structured practice plans, routines, and honest tool and course reviews for adults learning piano at home — no teacher required.
Plenty of places will teach you a song. Far fewer help you build the thing that actually decides whether you keep playing: a practice routine you can sustain. That's the gap PianoPracticeLab exists to fill. We're a website — read it, print the plan, follow it — focused on the practice side of learning piano as an adult beginner or a returning player.
Who it's for
The person we build for is a self-directed adult — often somewhere between 35 and 60, sometimes younger, sometimes older — with 20 to 30 minutes a day, a keyboard or piano at home, and no teacher. Maybe you're starting from scratch. Maybe you played as a kid and want to come back to it. Either way, you don't need talent or a music degree; you need a plan and the honest expectations to stick with it.
What we publish
- The 30-Day Plan — a free printable that turns "someday" into 20 minutes a day.
- Start-here guides — realistic timelines, the best way in, and a straight answer to "am I too old?"
- Practice guides — routines, schedules, and how to make short sessions count.
- Honest reviews — of the courses and apps adults actually consider, with the trade-offs spelled out.
How we keep it honest
Some links on the site are affiliate links, so a recommendation can earn us a commission — see our disclosure for exactly how that works. It never changes what we recommend, and we routinely point people to free routines and cheaper paths when those are the right call. The best recommendation we can give is the one that keeps you at the keys.
